Neurotoxins is the most popular, non-surgical cosmetic treatment in North America for temporary reduction and elimination of frown lines, forehead creases, crow’s feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. By temporarily blocking the nerve impulses, the muscles that cause wrinkles relax, giving the skin a smoother and more refreshed appearance.
Neurotoxins helps to soften wrinkles caused by repetitive expressions such as squinting or grimacing. These repetitive movements cause the underlying muscle to become disproportionately stronger. Neurotoxins relaxes these muscles and allows them to regain a normal size , this causes unwanted wrinkles to soften or disappear.
The use of Neurotoxins and dermal fillers is now administered in combination with Plasma Rich Platelets (PRP) for an even more synergistic result.

Neurotoxins injections are not painful. In Canada, they are usually administered with small insulin needles. Most patients are pleasantly surprised.
YES!
Neurotoxins injections usually do not cause bruising. Immediately after the injection there may be some redness or swelling but this usually disappears within 20 minutes.
Wrinkles arise overtime from the use of facial muscles when we express ourselves.
After years, our expression lines linger longer and become more pronounced until they become exaggerated and permanent. Neurotoxins a dilute purified solution of Botulinism Toxin, is used to weaken muscles that cause the wrinkles.
With repeated injections of neurotoxins the expression lines are softened. It is also used to prevent the occurrence of wrinkles when at risk areas are identified.
Injections are administered every 3-4 months for the first year and then at reduced doses and frequency.
Depending on the region to which it is injected the effect of neurotoxins may last 3-4 months. For example, the lip area experiences a lot of motion, in this area the effect can last up to 3 months. The effect of neurotoxins on the forehead area may last 3-4 months depending on the use of the forehead muscles.
In the first year, we usually treat the wrinkles at intervals of 3-4 months. The intervals can vary according to the severity of the wrinkles. After one year, we can diminish the number of neurotoxins units administered or we can space out the treatments to 4- 6 months. This depends on the patient’s ability to better control the muscles that cause the wrinkles to appear.

Neurotoxins and fillers are not the same thing. Many people think they perform the same basic function of filling in wrinkles, but they don’t. It’s true that they lessen the appearance of wrinkles, but many people don’t realize that they work quite differently.
“Fillers fill and neurotoxins relaxes. Once you understand that the muscle movement is what’s creating the wrinkle — especially on the forehead, then it’s clearer. Neurotoxins relaxes the muscle that’s creating the wrinkle,” as opposed to filler which fills in the wrinkle.

If done correctly and in proper moderation, neurotoxins will look natural and emotions will still be expressed on your face. The angry emotion that occurs when you furrow your brow will be diminished. In the right amount, neurotoxins will get rid of negative emotions, but not affect any other movement in the face like lifting your brows or smiling.
When neurotoxins gets into the hands of people that don’t have the right training, you’ll see overly-dramatic results and people that appear emotionless.

A popular myth that many people think that neurotoxins is a synthetic, terribly dangerous material. It is not — it’s found naturally in nature and when used in proper doses, it’s therapeutic and safe.
So what about the deaths from neurotoxins you’ve heard about in the news ?
There has never been one death reported from neurotoxins cosmetic [alone].” The deaths you might have heard about are associated with people who have cerebral palsy and take neurotoxins to treat limb spasticity. So if you are healthy and using neurotoxins to fight the signs of aging, it is safe.

Fiction. “It has a very localized diffusion of about a centimeter of the area” and does not move much further.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the body that helps to hydrate and add volume to our skin. Natural hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body in one or two days so it’s constantly replaced—as we age, this replacement mechanism diminishes so the moisturising and plumping effects of hyaluronic acid decrease. Hyaluronic acid is used for aesthetic treatments, and has been used by doctors for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as eye surgery.

Our approach to neurotoxins treatment of wrinkles is to obtain a refreshed and revitalized appearance without giving the patient a plastic Hollywood look. In fact only you and ourstaff will know you had neurotoxins injections!
Dr Moyal always uses the smallest dose that will be effective and then gradually increase this dose if necessary. This approach minimizes the occurrence of complications and side effects.
The short answer is NO.
Neurotoxins has a cumulative effect. The more treatments you have the more the effect will last. When the treatment is discontinued you will not look worse than if you had never had a treatment.
People do not look worse after neurotoxins injections even if the stop their treatments. If neurotoxins injections are stopped and the patient returns to hisprevious habits of squinting or frowning excessively, the muscles will become larger and stronger. In this case they will look as they did previously.
