As skin ages, it loses its natural elasticity and volume. This can give a tired, sad appearance. This can also occur due to rapid weight loss in persons of any age group.
Dermal fillers such as Juvederm and other hyaluronic gels, can reverse the ageing process: skin is hydrated from within. this gives a refreshed, rested and youthful appearance.
Hyaluronic gels are used to erase lines and to reverse the ageing process of the face by strategically placing injections around the eyes, in the cheeks and jaw line.
Hyaluronic gels are sometimes used in combination with other products to optimize the results. Dr. Yoel Moyal will provide you with options and recommendations after the initial consultation
The most common areas to be treated with dermal fillers include the naso-labial folds (between the mouth and the nose); the lines extending out from the lips and vertical lines around the mouth. Dermal fillers may be a solution to contour the cheeks and chin, replacing the volume loss associated with facial ageing, or for lips augmentation.

FAQs
Are there any side effects to hyaluronic acid gels?
Following the injection, you may experience slight redness, swelling or bruising at the injected area. Your medical practitioner must be advised of this. Please be assured that these side effects should not last and, after waiting 12 hours following treatment, can be easily covered up with your usual makeup. However, do not hesitate to get in touch with your medical practitioner in the unlikely event that these reactions last longer than a week or if you experience other side effects. All skin injection procedures carry a small risk of infection.
How long does a filler appointment last?
The injection treatment takes 30 minutes, but additional time is required in order to discuss the treatment and desired results.
How long will the effects of hyaluronic acid gels last?
This depends on a number of factors including:
your age.
The area you have had treated ex. areas that move break down the product faster.
The quantity and type of hyaluronic acid gel injected.
The quality of your skin.
your lifestyle.
HA fillers can last up to one year depending on the area that was treated.
Should I not go to work after a hyaluronic acid gel treatment?
No. For the most part of treatment areas, there are no traces or visible signs that cannot be covered with makeup. Certain zones, like bags under the eyes, have a tendency to bruise slightly. However, most patients say that the results are worth the inconvenience.
What can I do if I am not pleased with the results or if I want to change my appearance?
Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are reversible with hyaluronidase. This product is injected to dissolve the dermal filler previously injected. Results are apparent shortly after injection.
What exactly is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the body that helps to hydrate and add volume to our skin. Natural hyaluronic acid is broken down by the body in one or two days so it’s constantly replaced—as we age, this replacement mechanism diminishes so the moisturising and plumping effects of hyaluronic acid decrease. Hyaluronic acid is used for aesthetic treatments, and has been used by doctors for injection into arthritic joints to aid movement as well as eye surgery.
What should I know before a hyaluronic acid gel treatment?
We recommend that you do not use Aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication a few days before the treatment (except if taken for a chronic medical condition). Avoiding these drugs will reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising in the areas treated.
What’s the difference between hyaluronic gel and collagen injections?
HA gels are made of a substance called hyaluronic acid (HA), which is found naturally in the skin, alongside collagen. These two components of skin, along with some others, tend to break down over time, which makes the signs of ageing visible.
Collagen injections have been used for some time as dermal fillers to fill out the loss of skin volume, removing wrinkles and restoring volume to the face. HA fillers have now become more popular because they last longer—in most cases, 9-12 months whereas most collagen injections tended to wear off after around 4 months.
When will I need another hyaluronic acid gel treatment?
Many patients like to make another appointment for retouching and to maintain the effects of the treatment by repeating the injections. This can happen between 6 and 12 months after your first treatment or after your follow-up visit.
Will I notice the effects of hyaluronic gel treatments right away?
Yes, the esthetic results are immediate. You will see the effect as soon as the appointment is complete – and nobody will know that you undertook a Juvederm treatment! The majority of effects are noticeable right way. In the following weeks after the treatment, the products will attract water to hydrate and give it even more volume in the neighboring tissues. Your skin will even look better than right after the treatment.
Will the hyaluronic acid gel procedure hurt?
The smooth consistency of hyaluronic acid gel products allows the medical practitioner to administer it easily and smoothly. Many also contains 0.3% lidocaine to reduce injection pain for a more comfortable experience.
