What causes a double chin?

Is Belkyra clinically proven?

Belkyra® is a Health Canada approved product injected directly into the chin to dissolve fat cells.

How long is Belkyra treatment?

Following an in-depth consultation with Dr. Moyal, a treatment usually takes about fifteen to twenty minutes. Depending on the severity of submental fullness, a client may need two to six treatments.

How does Belkyra work?

When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Belkyra® destroys fat cells, and once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat. This results in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin, revealing an improved chin profile.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments required is determined by the severity of submental fullness (or double chin) and the outcome for each client following treatment. Improvement should be seen between each session. Dr. Moyal will estimate the number of treatments required at your initial consultation. Then, at each subsequent visit, you will review your progress with before and after photos and collaborate on your treatment regimen.

How far apart are the treatments?

Sessions are spaced no more than one month apart and a maximum of 6 treatments may be given.

Re-treatment is not needed in most patients and the results have been noted to last at least 4 years.

Dr. Moyal performs a complete review of your age, facial structure, skin type, and the improvements you would like to see. Then various options are discussed that could have the greatest benefit for you, review before and after photos, and develop a treatment program together.

What is the aftercare?

For majority of patients, downtime with Belkyra is minimal and occurs most commonly after their first treatment session. Apply ice or a cold pack to the treatment area for 10 to 20 minutes as needed.
